| Description | A photograph of Will Spencer walking away from the camera on a street in Sears, Illinois. This is the corner of 9th and 12th streets when the area was known as Sears, Illinois. After Sears was incorporated into Rock Island, the street changed to 49th Avenue. The street sign reads 49th Avenue. The sign on the front of the store reads W. S. Pate and Son Grocery and the advertisement on the side of the building reads Gold Rim Flour. Automoblies are in the background, and a cart is in the foreground. |

TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 1200ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the midtones from 1.00 to 1.51 using Adobe Photoshop 7.0. |
