| Notes | In "Tama Indians - Black Hawk Prairie Club Big Hike 1921" album, gifted to John H. Hauberg by members of the the Black Hawk Prairie Club on November 22, 1921 in honor of his birthday. The cover of the album appears in this archive as image number 27_BHPC_1921_0. This photograph appears on page 75 of the album. On page 55 of the album, the Pow Wow is described as follows: "Indian Pow-Wow - August 16th to 21st, 1922 - Tama, Iowa. 'The entire Mesquakie Tribe and their visiting friends from tribes in Nebraska, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and elsewhere enjoy their tribal "Thanksgiving" festivities in accordance with the favor of Providence in giving to them abundant crops and freedom from pestilence.'" |
