TitleJ. Wakole family & Jesse Kakaque
PhotographerHauberg, John H.
Date OriginalNovember 22, 1918
DescriptionGroup portrait of eight members of the Sac and Fox Nation--four children, one woman, and three men--taken at the Wakole residence near the Sac & Fox Indian Reservation in Oklahoma. The group is posed, standing, on the front porch of the house. Jesse Kakaque is in the back row, furthest to the left; Jackson Wakole and his wife, Inez Kakaque Wakole, are present in the back row on the right. Inez Kakaque Wakole is wearing a long dress, beaded necklaces and is holding what appears to be a blanket over her right arm. The men are wearing collared shirts and pants, and two of the men are wearing jackets. The girls are wearing long dresses, while the boy is wearing a suit that may be made of corduroy with a collared shirt and a hat. The baby is wearing a dress with a knit or woven hat. One of the girls is wearing moccasins, but all others whose footwear is visible are wearing laced boots likely made of leather.
