DescriptionGroup portrait of White Breast, silversmith of the Meskwaki (Fox) tribe, and his son. The two are standing in front of a wickiup, or dwelling constructed from reed mats and timber. White Breast is wearing a collared shirt and overalls, while is son is wearing a collared shirts, long pants, and a vest that appears to be decorated with beadwork and/or embroidery. This photograph was taken at the Meskwaki Settlement in Tama, Iowa.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9800 XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 24-bit RGB color 1200ppi. The master is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the shadows from 0 to 27 and the highlights from 255 to 241 using Adobe PhotoShop 7.0.
