About thirteen people--some are likely of the Meskwaki (Fox) tribe, others are members of the Black Hawk Prairie Club--are standing or sitting underneath the shelter. A wickiup can be seen to the left of the shelter in the image. A smaller wooden structure that resembles a dog house is visible in the foreground. This photograph was taken at the Meskwaki Settlement in Tama, Iowa. |
