TitleThe Tah-kah-ko-he-kon--underneath which the ceremonial dances were staged.
Date OriginalAugust 1922
DescriptionPhotograph of a crowd assembled underneath the ceremonial arbor during the annual Pow Wow. It appears that most, if not all, of the people visible are visitors, but some may be of the Meskwaki (Fox) tribe. Some of the visitors are likely affiliated with the Black Hawk Prairie Club. The arbor is constructed of wooden supports shaded by leafy branches. Trees are visible in the background. Most of the women appear to be wearing long dresses, and the men are wearing shirts and pants; many people are wearing hats. An American flag is visible above the arbor. This photograph was taken at the Meskwaki Settlement in Tama, Iowa.
