| Description | Photograph shows four soldiers, sitting and standing on and by a tank. The tank may have been used during World War I because of the date that the photograph was taken. It is held together by rivets. There is a crowd of people around the tank and a woman behind the vehicle is wearing a long fur coat. The tank is parked in front of the P. & M. Garage and Taxicab Livery. |

| Notes | On the back of the photograph is written "South Seminary Street & Tompkins. Tank parked on north side of Tompkins just west of Seminary. Building in background was P. & M Motors, home of the Overland auto. Taxi serice was operated from here by the P.M. Taxi Co. Taxis were Willy's Knight autos, with enclosed section for passengers. Driver had roof over his head and a windshield but was otherwise exposed to the elements". Note from cataloger: The sign on the window to the right says Taxicab Livery, not P. & M. Taxi Co. The address was verified in the 1922 Galesburg City Directory. There are two small smudges on the lower left of the photograph. |

| Digital Reproduction Information | Digital image captured using an Epson Expression 1680 with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched but the brightness was adjusing the input level of the brightness from 0 to +15 and the contrast from 0 to +8 using Adobe PhotoShop CS. |
