DescriptionPhotograph shows the Gaiety Theatre on the northeast corner of Simmons and South Cherry Street. There are two large signs on either side of the building that state "High class vaudeville, afternoons at 2:30, evenings at 8., 10 and 20 cents" There is a covered entrance to the building on the left with a sign that says "The Gaiety" on top of it. In the center of the photograph is another set of doors on which are printed to words "Stage entrance." There is an extension on the roof with skylights and chimneys. Next to the theatre is a brick building with an advertisement of the "O. T. Johnson Company, The Big Store, Retailers of everything". The street is paved with bricks and there are several utility poles with many wires crossing overhead.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using an Epson Expression 1680 with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 8-bit grayscale 1200 ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the contrast from 0 to +6 and the brightness from 0 to +10 using Adobe PhotoShop CS.
