	Old City Hall Title Old City Hall Date Original ca. 1900 Description Photograph shows four men standing in front of one of the first Galesburg City Hall buildings. It is a brick building with what appears to be a metal roof over a porch area. The men are wearing suits or shirt and tie. One of the men is standing in front of a dog lying on the walkway. There is a bicycle propped up against the building under an open window. Location Depicted 133-135 South Cherry Street, Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois Subject Galesburg (Ill.). Cherry next to Baptist Church). This building was replaced during the administration of Mayor Lake W. Sanborn by the present structure (still standing in 1968)." "On site of present City Hall, it was used as a County bldg. 1873-after removal of County seat." The "present city hall" building being referred to as replacing the building in this photograph is still standing but no longer used for that purpose. Address of the building shown in this photograph was verified in the 1907 Galesburg City Directory.
