DescriptionPhotograph shows the Tunnicliff Block in Galesburg, Illinois. The building on the left is a three story building with a cupola on the corner. It houses the Eagle Pharmacy. The word DRUGS is printed on the awning to the left. The building on the right houses the Woman's Exchange. It is a two story building. There are four men standing near and just inside the Eagle Pharmacy. A boy is sitting under a display window. A woman can be seen in the window of the Woman's Exchange. The photograph shows the northwest corner of Cherry and Simmons Streets.

NotesJ. J. and G. Tunnicliff attorneys-at-law and collection agents had their offices in the same building, 42 South Cherry Street, Galesburg, Illinois. It is not known at this time what the Woman's Exchange was but in later years the Galesburg City Directories list a Woman's Exchange Bakery but at a different address. Addresses verified in the 1895 Galesburg City Directory.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using an Epson Expression 1680 scanner with a transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 8-but grayscale 600ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the contrast from 0 to +26 and the brightness from 0 to +17 using Adobe PhotosShop CS.
