DescriptionPhotograph shows the miniature train ride at the Galesburg Amusement Park. The engine is red with a yellow stripe down the front. There is a headlight and the letters G A [P]. There is a man driving the train and a boy and girl in the first passenger car. There are two empy cars behind the children. The cars have advertising on the sides but they are not readable. There are a number of automobiles parked on the left and power lines above with electic light bulbs attached.

NotesThe Galesburg Amusement Park, better known to local citizens as Kiddieland, was owned by Saylor E. C. Conard from 1961 to 1972. This photograph was donated by Mr. Conard's daughters, Sheryl (Conard) Bacon, Faylene (Conard) Blaine and Twyla (Conard) Derry. Amusement park name and address were verified in the 1971 Galesburg City Directory.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using an Epson Expression 1680 scanner with transparent adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 24-bit RGB color 1200ppi. The master scan is untouched but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the contrast from 0 to +15 and the brightness from 0 to +5 using Adobe PhotoShop CS.
