| Notes | The P.E.O. Home was built as retirement home in 1911 for women in Knox County and was called the Knox County Old Ladies Home. It was purchased by the P. E. O. Society in 1953 as a retirement home for their members but was not exclusively for thier members. It was demolished in June of 2002. Photograph was loaned to the the library by Mrs. Dale Humphrey so that it could be scanned and saved to DC-ROM disc. Address verified in the 1960 Galesburg/Knoxville phone book. There is a small damaged spot on upper right of the image. |

The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjsuting the input level of the brightness from 0 to -20 and the contrast from 0 to +15 using Adobe Photoshop CS. |
