DescriptionGroup photograph of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War and Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic standing and sitting near the memorial sculpture of Mother Bickerdyke, Army nurse on the north side of the the Knox County Courthouse lawn. All of the women are wearing various commemorative medals, ribbons and arm bands. Image also shows patriotic banners and bunting draping the building and a large portrait of Abraham Lincoln and unknown soldier.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a photographic print scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the shadows from 0 to 25, and the highlights from 255 to 251, and by adjusting contrast +14 using Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
