| Description | Photograph of the Post Office in Galesburg, Illinois. Photograph shows a large, square brick building with arches over the entrances on Cherry and Simmons Street. The main entrance is on Cherry Street which faces east. There are two dormers projecting from the roof with four small windows set in each and peaked ornamentations on the three corners of roof showing. There are four ornate globe lampposts on the street corners and three automobiles are parked on the street next to and across from the building. A partial view of the north portion of the old Carnegie Galesburg Public Library can be seen on the right and a small view of Whiting Hall on the left. |

TIFF file created from a photographic print scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the shadows 0 to 17 and the highlights from 255 to 246 using Adobe Photoshop 7.0. |
