| Description | Postcard image shows the "Illinois" automobile manufactured in Galesburg by the Overholt Company. The automobile has a convertible top, four electric lights, a pump horn, and narrow tires with spoke wheels. It is parked in front of a house but the exact address is unknown. On the running board there is a small sign that states "Illinois 4 cylinder 25.6 H.P. Price $1250 Manufactured by Overholt Co. Galesburg Illinois." On the postcard itself is written "Illinois" looks good on paper and is a good goer on the road. Only 4 left. Better get your order in soon. Going to get $1500 next year. When you are ready for a ride. The Overholt Co." The postcard is dated August 6, 1909 and is addressed to Edward Carlson, 156 Walnut Ave. City. |

| Digital Reproduction Information | Digital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a postcard scanned at 8-bit grayscale 1200ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the shadows from 0 to 28, and the highlights fromm 255 to 235, and adjusting the contrast +30 using Adobe Photoshop 7.0. |
