There are 9 men in the image standing in front of the main building with one man on the far left standing in the doorway of a smaller building. The name of the company is listed on the front of the building. There is a set of stairs on the far right and a partial view of a wagon on the left. There is a large horseshoe hanging from a pole on the right.

NotesAddress of 111-115 East Water Street was verified in the 1889-1890 Galesburg City Directory. The earliest city directory owned by the library in which this establishment is listed is 1889. Note on back of photo states "L. A. Greenwood, 108 S. Prairie St. ca. 1887, Thomas Dyer 3rd from left." The Greenwood factory is not listed in the 1887 city directory

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using an Epson Expression 1680 scanner with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 8-bit grayscale 1200ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the contrast from 0 to +45, and the brightness from 0 to +11 using Adobe PhotoShop CS.
