| Description | Photograph shows the exterior of the Churchill Hardware Company store when it was located at 42 N. Prairie St. in Galesburg, Ill. The store sign is made of glass tiles. In the store windows can be seen tricycles, fireplace grates, tea sets, china and glassware. There is a large key above the door that says: "Keil keys made here." The bottom of a sign can be seen in the upper center of the image. |

| Notes | The hardware store moved from its Main Street location sometime between 1931 to 1933 and the building was burned to the ground sometime between 1959 and 1960. This photograph was donated to the Galesburg Public Library by Linda Nyman Maurizi so that it could be added to the collection. |

| Digital Reproduction Information | Digital image captured using an Epson Expression 1680 scanner with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a print photograph scanned at 8-bit gray 600ppi. The master scan is untouched. but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the brightness from 0 to +9 and the contrast from 0 to +6 using Adobe Photoshop CS. |
