DescriptionImage shows seven men standing on an extendable ladder of the Galesburg Fire Department's new truck. The ladder has been raised to a height above the fire department building's tower. There are four firemen standing on the back of the truck and one man standing on a trailer hooked to it. There is a crowd of men and boys on the far left. The Register Mail newspaper building can be seen on the far left. On the far right of the image, a corner of the Central Hotel can be seen with an advertisement painted on the wall that reads "Fogarty's Tavern, 24 ounce glass of beer, 10 cents." There is also a small Coca-Cola sign on the building.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Epson Expression 1680 scanner with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 1200ppi. The master scan is untouched but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the shadows from 0 to 48, the midtones from 1.00 to 1.00 and the highlights from 255 to 245 and the contrast from 0 to +10 using Adobe PhotoShop CS.
