NotesFrom "A Portfolio of Cartoons as published by the Davenport Times 1912-1913, verses by Irving C. Norwood"; publication includes poem "Wm. A. Hickey / He has a theory of his own / That makes his business grow, / "Tis "service to the customer; The best there is, " you know. / The five big stores he has today / Are so well stocked and nifty, / Here's hoping that it won't be long / Before the five are fifty!" Mr. Hickey was president and treasurer of Hickey Brothers Wholesale and retail cigars, tobacco, newspapers and periodicals.

Object Description1 slide : lantern, b&w ; 3.25 X 4 in.
Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a lantern slide scanned at 8-bit grayscale 1200ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting the input level of the shadows from 0 to 44 and rotated clockwise 0.75 degrees and cropped using Adobe PhotoShop 7.0.
