DescriptionThis portrait is nearly identical to X421a. The boy has a slightly different facial expression in this image. He is seated in a chair with one leg crossed under him. His left hand is on the arm of the chair and his right hand is resting on his lap. He is wearing a dark colored sailor suit with dark stockings and high button shoes. The collar and tie of the suit are light colored.

NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled Mrs. L. Dow. Based on information in the 1910 Federal census and Davenport city cirectories it seems likely this boy is Courtney L. Dow (born about 1903), son of Lyford T. and Myrtle Dow. The family lived at 151 Bridge Avenue in 1910 and Courtney L. was their only child.
