| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled Father Niermann. Based on information in the 1910 census, a history of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and an article in the Davenport Democrat and Leader, it seems definite that this is Father Anton Niermann at the time of his golden jubilee, March 1909, celebrating fifty years of his ordination to the priesthood. Father Niermann would be 77 years old at the time this photograph was taken. He died in December of 1914 in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. |
