| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled Francis Mueller. However "Lewis" is etched on the actual glass negative. It is possible there is confusion with image X274 labeled Clementine Lewis. Franciska Mueller was born 16Nov1895 to Frank W. and Mellie (Malvina) Lischer Mueller according to Scott County Iowa Birth Records. In other records she is called Frances Elfrieda. She was their only child and Malvina died in Dec1895. Frank married Emma Hoffman in 1898 and her niece, Clementine Lewis, was raised in the Mueller home. Clementine was born 18Nov1893. The girl in this image appears to be older than the girl in image X274, making it seem likely that this is actually Clementine Lewis as the etching on the negative suggests. |
