| Description | Photographic postcard of the Albatross, a side wheel railroad transfer steamboat. It was built at Dubuque, Iowa in 1907 and owned by the Louisiana & Mississippi Valley Transfer Company. In 1920-1921 it was enlarged and in 1937 it was sold to Streckfus Steamers, Inc. Streckfus converted it to an excursion boat between 1938-1940 and renamed it Admiral. Caption on the postcard: "Mississippi River Scene, Rock Island, Ill. 43." |
