| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled H. F. Evans. Based on information from the Davenport City Directory it seems likely this is Harry Fifield Evans, who was the manager of the Davenport Wagon Company for several years and later vice-president and foreign trade manager of the Moline Plow Company until 1924. He was also director of the French & Hecht Wheel Company. His wife was Grace Hamilton French, daughter of Judge Nathaniel French. Harry F. TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting brightness to 69 and contrast to 58 using Microsoft PhotoEditor. |
