NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled Philip Sontag. Based on information in the 1910 Davenport city directory and federal census it seems likely this is Philip A. Sonntag at about age 30. He married Elsa Petersen in February of 1910. Philip is listed as affiliated with H. Sonntag & Sons Plumbers and Heating Apparatus.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched but this display image was enhanced by adjusting brightness to 64 and contrast to 55 in Microsoft PhotoEditor.
