NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled Mrs. H. C. Kahl. Based on information in the federal census records and Davenport city directories, it seems likely this is Marie Kahl, daughter of Henry C. and Elizabeth Kahl. Marie was the eldest of four girls, and was born in about 1904.See also images X495, X593, X819 and X1513 for other Kahl children.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting brightness to 73 and contrast to 55 in Microsoft PhotoEditor.
