DescriptionTwo portraits on one glass negative of a female toddler wearing a light colored dress, shoes and hair bow. She appears to be sitting on the edge of a bed. In one image she is holding a book on her lap and pointing to a picture while looking at the photographer with a smile. An adult woman in a dark dress can be partially seen at her side, helping to hold the book. The other image shows the little girl holding a doll that is dressed almost exactly like she is.

NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled C. E. Crosett. Based on information in the 1910 census and Davenport city directories this is likely little Elizabeth A. Crossett, daughter of Edward C. and Elizabeth Crossett. In 1910 Mr. Crossett is the President of Crossett Timber Company, the family resides at 227 Mississippi, and Elizabeth is one-year-old.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting brightness to 56 and contrast to 53 in Microsoft PhotoEditor.
