DescriptionTwo images on one glass negative of a young girl wearing a light colored dress with elbow length sleeves. Her blonde hair is parted in the middle and he has a large bow in the back of her hair. A watch is pinned to the bodice of her dress and she is wearing a simple bracelet on one arm. In one image she is holding a rose in her lap as she sits on a chair. The other image has a mark through her face. She is holding a book or magazine in that pose.

NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled C. J. VonMaur. Based on information in the 1910 federal census and Davenport city directories it seems likely this is Josephine VonMaur, daughter of Charles J. and Mary Ellen (Cable) VonMaur, who would have been about eight-years-old. See also X692.

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting brightness to 60 and contrast to 54 in Microsoft PhotoEditor.
