| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled Silas W. Gardner Hinkle. However research indicates it is most likely Silas Wright Gardiner and his wife Louisa Catherine (Henkel) Gardiner. The couple married about 1870 and Gardiner became a wealthy lumber baron in Clinton County, Iowa and the state of Mississippi. Silas W. Gardiner was the son of Stimson Gardiner and the brother of Sarah Elizabeth (Gardiner) Eastman. [See X707] He was in business with brother-in-law L. C. Eastman and friend Artemus Lamb. Silas W. Gardiner died in June 1907. |
