| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled L. C. Eastman. Based on information in the 1910, 1915 and 1920 federal and Iowa state census records and Wolfe's History of Clinton County (Iowa) Volume 1, it seems likely this is Lauren Chase Eastman, lumber baron, of Clinton County, Iowa along with his wife, Sarah Elizabeth (Gardiner) Eastman and their grandson Lauren Eastman Rogers, child of daughter Nina L. and Wallace B. Rogers. Sarah Elizabeth (Gardiner) Eastman was the sister of Silas Wright Gardiner, another lumber baron in Clinton, Iowa and in Mississippi. |
