| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled A. J. Preston. Based on information in the Davenport city directories and federal census records it seems likely this is Andrew J. Preston (1825-1913) who was vice-president of Sickels, Preston & Nutting Company, a wholesale hardware company located in Davenport. The 1910 census lists him as a "retired capitalist". He would be about 85-years-old in this image. |
