NotesThe original published image is labeled Mercy Hospital. The original hospital opened in 1868, and in the 1882 Scott County History the main building is described as "very large massive brick, four stories high, and about 150 x 60 feet". Its location is described as adjoining the city limits and distant about two miles from the post office and court house.
