| Notes | The original published image is labeled St. James Hotel. Located at the intersection of Front (now River Drive) and Main Streets. It was built in 1875 and remained in use until after 1965. Originally it was called Grant's Hotel but the name was soon changed to the St. James. The original 72 rooms were later expanded to 150. The hotel boasted that the full views of the river afforded pleasure and comfortable temperatures, the presence of electricity and proximity to the boat dock at the foot of Main Street. |
