| Notes | The original negative envelope is labeled E. G. Rump. Based on information in the 1910 Davenport City Directory, Edward G. Rump was a student at St. Ambrose College. He married Valley Joan Shadwell in Scott County on 27 June 1922. Their marriage return lists his father as Louis Henry Rump and his mother as Catherine Schroeder. Based on information published in the Davenport Democrat on June 28, 1922 on page 12, He graduated from St. Ambrose College in 1914 and he was a veteran of the World War. According to his World War I draft registration card, Edward George Rump was born February 18, 1896 in Ft. Madison, Lee County, Iowa and was employed as a wholesale grocer at the L. H. Rump Company. This photograph was used in The Ambrosian, the St. Ambrose College yearbook for 1914. According to The Ambrosian, E. G. Rump was class president, Music Editor of The Ambrosian, President of the St. Thomas Literary Society, Assistant Manager of the Vaudeville Association, Vice President of the Smoker Club, Band Leader and solo cornet, and an "A" winner in Basketball. |
