She is sitting on a bench outdoors with her legs crossed, her right arm on the back of the bench and her left arm on her knee.

NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled Phil Mitchell. Based on information in the 1920 Rock Island City Directory, Phil Mitchell was President of the State Bank of Rock Island, and Vice President of the Rock Island Stove Company. He resided on 720 20th Street with his wife, Ella J. Based on information published in his obituary on November 7, 1928 on page 5 of the Davenport Democrat, Phil Mitchell was the son of Philemon Libby and Catherine Norris (Hall) Mitchell. He was born on November 30, 1846 in Kentucky. He married Ella Judd, the daughter of Dr. F. H. and Harriet J. Judd in 1877.
