NotesThe original published image is labeled Interior of Pumping Station No. 1, Davenport Water Co. Station Number One comprises the original works of the Davenport Water Company. It was situated on the Mississippi River about one mile from the Government Bridge. Pumps take water from the pump wells and deliver it through filters, under direct pessure, to the city mains and the reservoir.
