NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled Rev. D. J. Flannery. Based on information in the 1900 Census, D. J. Flannery was born in Ireland in May 1846. Based on information in his obituary, published in the Davenport Democrat on October 20, 1918, he was pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic church. He was born in County Tipperary, Ireland in 1846 and came to Dubuque, Iowa with his parents at the age of 10. He had been stationed in Davenport since the spring of 1882.
