NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled Mr. R. H. Postel. Based on information in the 1920 Census, Rudolph H. Postel was born ca. 1884 in Iowa and lived in Davenport with his wife, Jessie. Based on information in the World War I Registration Cards, Rudolph Henry Postel was born on June 12, 1882. He worked at the Scott County Auditor's office and lived on 720 Gaines Street. His obituary was published in the Davenport Democrat on January 4, 1951. Based on information in his obituary, Rudy was the son of Fritz and Elise Looft Postel. He married Jessie Rosley at Ladora, IA on December 24, 1918. Rudy and Jessie Postel had two sons, Richard F. of Hermosa Beach, CA and James L. of Davenport.
