There is a great deal of detail on the lower part of her floor-length gown. The woman is facing the photographer and has her hands clasped in front of her. Her hair is swept up and she is wearing eyeglasses.

NotesThe original negative envelope is labeled "S.A. Finger or Mrs. A. Finger". Based on information found in the 1900 and 1910 census records and the 1906-07 Davenport city directory it is likely this is Nellie (Mrs. Samuel A.) Finger. She was born in September 1878 and was married in 1898. By 1910 her family consists of husband Samuel, sons James (10) and Orlando (8), and daughter Alice M. (6).

Digital Reproduction InformationDigital image captured using a Microtek ScanMaker 9600XL with transparent media adapter. TIFF file created from a glass negative scanned at 8-bit grayscale 600 ppi. The master scan is untouched, but this display image was enhanced by adjusting brightness to 68 and contrast to 53 in Microsoft PhotoEditor.
